It took almost
eight years to get this show done. Blood Sweat and Tears.
Don't ask me why, or attempt to make sense of 8 years = 45 minutes.
I'd swear that editing this footage was one of the most arduous &
ridiculous tasks I've ever involved myself with.....but it's
done....finally.
The
show was filmed by 3 of us, and two other people who I unexpectedly
met that night for the first time. Fast forward 5 years later
I find a crumpled piece of paper in a bag, while moving out of my
house. I always thought I had lost the paper with this
address, but I knew exactly what it was staring down at it. I
did a public records search and back traced the expired address of
Anne from WMPG, the girl who filmed all the mobile footage on a
small digital camera. Anne had scratched down her address on
this small piece of paper that night and didn't even write her name.
Anne said she "worked at a radio station" and that was the only lead
I had. Anyway, I couldn't fucking believe I found this
footage. What a trip man. This was a REALLY
good show. And we knew it when we filmed that day. Also,
understand my tapes from this show have been moved 20 times, left in
a backpack on the floor during 50 shows, lost, forgotten, involved
in a fire............a wonder they even survived after all this
time. I didn't watch our footage from this show until about
3-4 years after, because I thought it was too dark and was not
salvageable.
This show was
filmed at the closing of an incredible era for Worcester, MA and
it's club shows. A lot of great memories, excellent bands &
fun times. I cannot help but feel an immense, overwhelming
sense of appreciation for being present and involved during the
1996-1999 scene in this town. We had some really, really good
times. |
